HonestReporting Canada is sounding the alarm after CBC Winnipeg host Nadia Kidwai interviewed University of Manitoba art student Bisan Dasuki about the Mennonite Heritage Centre exhibit “The Land Remembers, Palestine: Courage, Resilience, Resistance,” then followed it with a February 16 CBC article that echoed the same framing.

According to HonestReporting, the segment treated “art as protest” claims of “fighting oppression” as if they were neutral facts, with little challenge to the obvious implication that Israel is the oppressor and Palestinians are the oppressed.
Meanwhile, the role of Hamas terrorists was minimized, despite Hamas’ October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel, the murder of 1,200 innocents, and the kidnapping of 251 hostages.
Most shocking, Dasuki reportedly stated, “I don’t support Zionists” and rejected a two-state solution, yet CBC did not press her on what that means for Jewish self-determination or for the vast majority of Canadian Jews who support Israel’s existence.
The silence is deafening when public broadcasters give extremists a soft platform, then call it “conversation.”
If CBC wants to cover Palestinian art and pain, fine, but it must also acknowledge Israeli victims of terrorism, Jewish history, and the real-world consequences of demonizing the only Jewish state.
