IDF forces operating in eastern Rafah continued intensive counterterrorism operations on Wednesday, targeting terrorists attempting to escape from underground terror tunnels.
This morning, reconnaissance teams from the Nahal Brigade identified six armed terrorists believed to have emerged from a subterranean tunnel in the operational area.
Israeli forces quickly coordinated airstrikes as the terrorists tried to escape. Four were killed and two surrendered, effectively neutralizing the threat. IDF units continue conducting sweeps and security operations in the area to ensure no further dangers remain.
These actions follow similar operations carried out on Tuesday, when Nahal Brigade combat teams identified and engaged five armed terrorists in the same region. All five were struck and killed.
The Southern Command emphasized that Israeli forces remain fully deployed throughout the Rafah sector in accordance with the ceasefire agreement, maintaining vigilance and readiness to respond to any immediate threats.
The operations demonstrate Israel’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding its forces and civilians against terror attempts, particularly those originating from underground infrastructure.
