IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon killed 10 Hezbollah terrorists over the past two days who were identified as posing an immediate threat to Israeli troops, the military said, as ceasefire violations and cross-border attacks continue.
According to the IDF, troops from the 7th Brigade combat team under the 36th Division encountered multiple armed Hezbollah terrorists in several separate incidents near their positions. In what the military described as rapid “closing of the circle,” the terrorists were struck and eliminated, removing the threat to the forces.
The activity comes amid ongoing Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire, including repeated rocket and drone launches toward IDF positions and northern Israeli communities in recent days.
In a separate operation, soldiers from the elite Multi-Domain Unit destroyed a loaded launch position that was ready for immediate use. The IDF said the launcher posed a direct threat to troops in the area. Additional infrastructure used for storing weapons, along with military structures linked to Hezbollah activity, was also destroyed.
Overnight, the Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure after an anti-tank missile was fired toward Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. No injuries were reported. Shortly afterward, troops from the 91st Division targeted and struck the launch position from which the missile had been fired.
The military said operations will continue to neutralize threats against Israeli civilians and IDF personnel, in line with directives from the political leadership, as it responds to continued attacks along the northern front.
