Golani forces encountered terrorists in face-to-face combat and eliminated them.

IDF forces from the Golani Brigade Combat Team have completed a special operation aimed at establishing operational control over parts of the Litani River area in southern Lebanon, the military announced Tuesday.
According to the IDF, troops operating under Division 36 spent the past week carrying out clearing operations throughout the area, during which Golani forces engaged Hezbollah terrorists in close-quarters combat and eliminated dozens of terrorists in face-to-face encounters and coordinated air-ground strikes.
During the operation, Israeli forces uncovered Hezbollah staging areas, underground tunnel routes, weapons depots, and rocket launchers hidden throughout the region. The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on more than 100 targets in support of the ground operation, the military said.
In one encounter, troops located and cleared what the IDF described as a significant underground tunnel route used by Hezbollah terrorists.
Lt. Col. B., commander of the Golani Reconnaissance Unit, said troops captured “key objectives” during the operation while exposing Hezbollah infrastructure above and below ground.
“Golani reconnaissance forces encountered terrorists in face-to-face combat and eliminated them,” he said. “The fighters operated with courage and determination.”
The operation was part of the IDF’s ongoing effort to push Hezbollah infrastructure away from the border and prevent future attacks on northern Israeli communities.
