Israeli forces operating in northern Gaza uncovered Hamas weapons hidden inside a civilian home, including inside a child’s blanket, in another example of the terror group’s systematic abuse of civilian spaces, the IDF said.

The discovery was made during searches carried out by IDF troops from the Northern Brigade under the 252nd Division in the Beit Hanoun area. Among the weapons found were multiple mortar shells concealed in a way that clearly placed civilians and especially children at risk.

The find came as part of an ongoing Israeli operation across northern Gaza, including the Jabalia, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia areas, aimed at dismantling Hamas terrorist infrastructure and preventing attacks against Israel.

According to the IDF, recent operations in the area have led to the elimination of dozens of terrorists who crossed restricted zones and posed immediate threats to Israeli forces.

The IDF said Southern Command forces continue to operate throughout the Gaza Strip to weaken terrorist organizations and defend Israeli civilians, as Israel works to remove ongoing threats and restore security.
