An explosive drone launched by Hezbollah struck northern Israel near Rosh Hanikra on Thursday, wounding three civilians in an attack that marked a serious breach of ceasefire understandings.
According to initial reports, the drone hit a parking area outside a restaurant in Rosh Hanikra, located just steps from the Lebanese border and an adjacent IDF military post. The blast injured three Israeli civilians, two of them seriously and one lightly.
All three were evacuated to the Galilee Medical Center for treatment. Hospital officials later reported that the condition of one of the wounded had deteriorated and was now listed as critical.
In a statement, the IDF confirmed that an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah fell inside Israeli territory near the border.
“A short while ago, an explosive drone launched by the Hezbollah terrorist organization fell in Israeli territory near the Lebanese border,” the military said. “As a result, several Israeli civilians were injured and evacuated to a hospital for further medical treatment.”
The IDF described the incident as “a blatant violation of the ceasefire understandings” by Hezbollah.
The strike comes amid ongoing tensions along the northern front, where Hezbollah has continued to launch drones and rockets toward Israeli territory and IDF forces despite agreements aimed at reducing hostilities.
