Troops opened fire, killing one terrorist, neutralizing another and arresting the third.

IDF Paratroopers from the 890th Battalion eliminated a Palestinian terrorist on Sunday during a planned operation near Azzun in the Ephraim Regional Brigade. The soldiers encountered three terrorists who were throwing stones at a major roadway, endangering Israeli drivers traveling through the area. Troops opened fire, killing one terrorist, neutralizing another and arresting the third. No Israeli forces were injured.
The attack is only the latest in a surge of violence across Judea and Samaria.
Last Tuesday morning, a stabbing attack took place at the entrance to the community of Ateret in the Binyamin region. A terrorist stabbed two Israelis before being shot by IDF soldiers who were already on site. Both victims sustained light wounds and were treated at the scene by Magen David Adom.
Just days earlier, on Saturday night, another Israeli narrowly escaped death when a terrorist hurled an iron bar at a passing vehicle on Route 5 near the Palestinian village of Mas-ha, close to Elkana. The metal object pierced the windshield of Merav Ben Avraham’s car and miraculously missed her and anyone else who might have been inside.
These incidents come amid intensified counterterror operations by the Israeli military. The IDF recently announced the completion of Operation “Five Stones,” a two-week campaign carried out by units from the Commando Brigade, Menashe Brigade, Shomron Brigade and the Air Force, together with the Shin Bet and Border Police.
During the operation, Israeli forces killed six terrorists, arrested dozens of wanted suspects and questioned many others. Troops also seized hundreds of thousands of shekels intended for terror financing, along with dozens of weapons including pistols, M16 rifles, Carlo-type guns, ammunition and knives.
The IDF stated that it will continue taking action against anyone who threatens the safety of Israeli civilians.
