Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel has achieved major successes in the war against Iran and its allies but acknowledged the heavy price paid by Israeli families, speaking in a national address ahead of the Passover holiday.

In a statement to the public ahead of the holiday, Netanyahu said, “On this Passover holiday, Israel is stronger than ever. The whole world hears the roar of our lion in our struggle against the evil regime in Iran, a struggle in which we have achieved enormous successes. But at the same time, there are also painful prices. Just yesterday, we lost four of our finest sons.”

The prime minister expressed condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and wished a recovery to the wounded, saying the nation stands united during the war. “We are one people, bound together in a shared destiny to ensure our existence and our future,” he said.

Netanyahu used the Passover theme in his remarks, comparing Israel’s campaign against Iran and its regional allies to the biblical story of the 10 plagues in Egypt. He said Israel has delivered what he described as “10 blows” to the Iranian axis, including strikes against Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iranian forces and infrastructure, and other regional threats.

He also emphasized the growing cooperation between Israel and the United States, calling it “historic and unprecedented cooperation” between the two countries and their militaries.

The speech came as fighting continues on multiple fronts, including ongoing operations in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah and continued strikes against Iranian military and weapons infrastructure. Netanyahu said the campaign is not yet over but claimed Iran’s regime is weaker than ever and that Israel has significantly reduced major threats including Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

Quoting the Passover Haggadah, Netanyahu concluded by saying, “In every generation they rise up to destroy us, and the Holy One saves us from their hands,” adding that Israel will continue to stand strong and ensure the future of the country.

The remarks underscored the contrast between the traditional holiday of freedom and the ongoing war, as many Israeli families prepare for Passover while soldiers continue fighting on multiple fronts and families mourn those who have fallen in battle.
