Exodigo, an Israeli startup specializing in underground mapping, has raised $96 million in a Series B funding round—capital that could significantly advance Israel’s efforts in detecting enemy tunnels and supporting combat engineering operations.
While the company has made a name for itself in the civilian sector—helping U.S. utility companies and transportation authorities locate underground infrastructure—its cutting-edge technology is increasingly being recognized for its military applications.
With subterranean threats from groups like Hamas and Hezbollah intensifying, Exodigo’s platform is emerging as a valuable tool on the battlefield.
The Israel Defense Forces have struggled for years to develop effective tunnel detection systems.
Terror tunnels have long been used by Hamas and Hezbollah to smuggle weapons, move personnel, and conceal hostages beneath civilian areas.
The problem came into sharp focus after the Hamas attacks in October 2023 and during subsequent operations in southern Lebanon and Gaza, where complex tunnel networks repeatedly challenged Israeli forces.
Traditional detection tools such as seismic sensors and ground-penetrating radar often fall short—especially in urban or densely layered terrain.
Exodigo offers a breakthrough. Its platform uses a fusion of multi-sensor inputs, combined with AI and cloud computing, to produce accurate 3D maps of what lies below the surface—without digging.
This gives defense planners a non-intrusive way to detect tunnels, map subterranean infrastructure, and support the IDF’s elite combat engineering units such as Yahalom, which specialize in underground warfare.
“Exodigo has created a new standard for subsurface intelligence,” said CEO and co-founder Jeremy Suard. “What began as a tool to protect infrastructure is now evolving into a vital asset for national security and military planning.”
Backed by investors including Zeev Ventures and Greenfield Partners, Exodigo plans to expand its global team and further develop its geotechnical risk-reduction solutions.
The company has already scanned sites in 18 U.S. states and played a role in de-risking more than $75 billion in infrastructure investments.
As the threat landscape evolves underground, Exodigo’s AI-driven platform may soon become indispensable—not just for what it reveals beneath our feet, but for the lives it could help protect above ground.
