The Israeli Air Force struck a major petrochemical facility in Shiraz as part of a broader wave of attacks targeting Iran’s military infrastructure, the IDF announced Tuesday morning.
According to the military, the strike targeted one of the few remaining facilities in Iran capable of producing critical chemical components used in explosives and ballistic missile production. The site was used to manufacture nitric acid, a key material in the development of explosives and missile propulsion systems.
The operation was carried out with precise intelligence guidance and was part of a wider strike campaign across multiple regions in Iran aimed at degrading the regime’s military production capabilities.
The IDF said the strike further deepens the damage to Iran’s ability to manufacture weapons, particularly systems reliant on chemical components produced at the site.
In parallel, Israeli forces targeted a large-scale ballistic missile complex in northwestern Iran. According to the military, the site had been used to launch dozens of missiles toward Israel and was actively being used by Iranian forces to plan and carry out further attacks.
The latest strikes follow an earlier operation on Monday in which the Israeli Air Force targeted Iran’s largest petrochemical complex in Asaluyeh, a central hub for producing and exporting chemical materials used by the regime’s military and nuclear-linked industries.
That strike, along with a previous attack on another major petrochemical facility, effectively disabled a significant portion of Iran’s petrochemical export capacity and disrupted key components of its missile production infrastructure.
The IDF said the ongoing campaign is aimed at inflicting sustained damage on Iran’s weapons production capabilities while also delivering a significant economic blow to the regime.
