The New York Mets have drawn criticism for not scheduling a Jewish Heritage Night in 2026.

Major League Baseball and minor league teams across the United States are planning dozens of Jewish Heritage Nights during the 2026 season, combining baseball games with events aimed at celebrating Jewish culture and community engagement.
The initiative, compiled by Zack Raab, spans from April through early September and includes at least 12 MLB teams, among them the Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, and Detroit Tigers. Minor league clubs are also participating, including the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Jewish Heritage Nights are organized as themed events that highlight Jewish history and contributions to baseball.
Activities commonly include pregame performances such as the hora, appearances by special guests, and themed merchandise, including jerseys with Hebrew lettering. Teams frequently partner with local Jewish organizations to coordinate programming and outreach.
Several specific events have already been scheduled. The Detroit Tigers will host a game at Comerica Park against the Marlins that includes a special jersey giveaway. The Brooklyn Cyclones, a High-A affiliate of the Mets, are set to hold a community-focused event at Maimonides Park on May 3.
The San Francisco Giants are planning multiple dates at Oracle Park as part of their broader cultural programming. The Bethesda Big Train will host a youth baseball clinic and community night at Shirley Povich Field on June 22.
While participation is widespread, not all teams are taking part. The New York Mets have drawn criticism for not scheduling a Jewish Heritage Night in 2026, marking a departure from previous seasons.
Fans interested in attending are being directed to individual team schedules, where special ticket packages are often offered. These packages typically include limited-edition items such as themed caps or shirts tied to the events.
