Metropolitan Police said they arrested two men in Watford on Tuesday for allegedly plotting to set fire to an undisclosed Jewish site, as part of a wider investigation into suspected arson-related activity.

Police identified the suspects as a 19-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both of whom remain in custody.

Authorities said a total of nine people have been arrested over the past three days in connection with the investigation. The other seven have been released on strict bail conditions.

Among those previously detained are three men ages 24, 25 and 26, who were arrested Sunday evening in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson.

A 25-year-old man was arrested the following day in Stevenage.

Later on Monday, police said a 26-year-old man and two women, ages 50 and 59, were arrested in a car near Birmingham.

All individuals arrested earlier in the investigation have since been released on bail under conditions imposed by authorities.

The arrests come amid a series of arson attacks reported across London since late March.

According to police, incidents have included Jewish community ambulances targeted in Golders Green, as well as attacks involving two synagogues and a former Jewish charity.

Authorities also reported an incident involving a drone flown near the Israeli Embassy. No further details were provided about the circumstances of that event.

Police have not disclosed the specific location of the site allegedly targeted in the most recent plot. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced any charges.

The Metropolitan Police said the arrests are part of continued efforts to address suspected arson activity and related threats, following multiple incidents affecting Jewish-linked locations in recent weeks.
