A combined vehicle-ramming and stabbing attack struck the Gush Etzion Junction on Tuesday, leaving one Israeli dead and three others wounded.
According to the IDF, two terrorists rammed their vehicle into civilians standing at the junction before exiting with knives and attempting to carry out additional stabbings. Both assailants were shot and neutralized at the scene.
Magen David Adom medics, assisted by an IDF medical team, pronounced a man in his 30s dead from stab wounds. Three more victims were evacuated to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah Ein Kerem: a woman in her 40s in serious condition, and a man in his 30s and a 15-year-old boy in moderate condition, all suffering penetrating injuries. Shaare Zedek later reported that none of the hospitalized victims are currently in life-threatening condition.
Security forces found several explosive devices inside the terrorists’ vehicle, which Border Police sappers worked to neutralize. The discovery raises concerns that the attackers intended a more extensive, multi-stage assault.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad issued a statement praising the attack—though stopping short of formally claiming responsibility. Meanwhile, Palestinian reports say IDF forces are operating in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, as part of the ongoing manhunt and area lockdown following the attack.
The IDF has encircled villages in the Gush Etzion sector as security operations continue amid fears of additional attempted attacks.
