The U.S. Embassy warned that the security environment in Lebanon remains complex and can change quickly.

The United States on Wednesday night urged its citizens to leave both Lebanon and Iran as regional tensions remain high and ceasefire arrangements grow increasingly fragile.
In Beirut, the U.S. Embassy warned that the security environment in Lebanon “remains complex and can change quickly,” calling on Americans to depart while commercial flights are still available. Those who choose to remain were urged to prepare contingency plans and closely monitor developments.
A similar advisory was issued for Iran, where U.S. officials said the country’s airspace has only partially reopened. Americans were urged to leave immediately, either by air or via land crossings to neighboring countries, while cautioning that Iranian authorities may restrict departures or impose exit fees.
The warnings come amid repeated violations of the ceasefire along Israel’s northern front. Hezbollah has continued to test the arrangement since it took effect last week, including rocket fire and the launch of drones toward IDF forces operating south of the forward defense line in southern Lebanon.
On Thursday morning, the IDF reported another incident, saying an interceptor was launched at a suspicious aerial target in the same area. According to the military, the object did not cross into Israeli territory and no sirens were activated, with the outcome of the interception still under review.
The developments come amid a broader and still uncertain ceasefire framework involving Iran. Earlier this week, President Donald Trump said he would extend the truce despite previously opposing such a move.
Trump said he had directed the military to “continue the blockade” and would “extend the ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded.”
It remains unclear when the extended ceasefire is set to expire or whether negotiations will resume in the coming days, leaving the situation across multiple fronts fluid and unpredictable.
