President Donald Trump signaled Wednesday that the United States could expand its military campaign against Iran following a series of American strikes on Iranian targets, warning that Tehran had missed its opportunity to reach a negotiated agreement.

The comments came hours after U.S. forces carried out multiple rounds of strikes across Iran in retaliation for the downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter earlier this week.

Speaking to Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst, Trump suggested additional military action remains under consideration as negotiations with Tehran appear to have stalled.

“I may keep going,” Trump said. “They had a chance to sign a deal and survive.”

According to Fox News, Trump indicated he is increasingly considering strikes on additional strategic targets, including Iranian power plants and bridges.

The president’s remarks marked some of his strongest comments yet regarding the possibility of a broader military campaign against the Islamic Republic.

Trump also used social media to portray Iran as a defeated adversary and to argue that U.S. military and economic pressure is having a devastating impact on the regime.

“Iran’s Military is a complete and total mess,” Trump wrote. “Much of it, like their Navy and Air Force, doesn’t even exist anymore — they have been completely defeated.”

“The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD,” he added. “They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price.”

In a separate post, Trump praised the U.S. naval blockade around Iran, describing it as a decisive factor in increasing pressure on Tehran.

“The Fake News Media refuses to report how EFFECTIVE the U.S. Naval BLOCKADE is,” Trump wrote. “NOTHING GETS THROUGH unless we want it to. IT IS A STEEL WALL.”

Trump claimed the blockade has crippled Iran’s economy and ability to fund its military, arguing that the country is rapidly becoming a failed state.

“Iran is doing ZERO business, not paying their military, or any of their bills, and quickly becoming a FAILED NATION,” he wrote, before adding the unusual sign-off: “Lots of oil is getting out. Praise be to Allah!”

The latest comments suggest the administration is continuing to increase pressure on Tehran despite earlier diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a broader agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and regional activities.
