President Donald Trump confirmed Thursday that the United States is moving forward with the next phase of its Gaza plan, signaling a shift from a ceasefire framework toward demilitarization, transitional governance, and reconstruction.
In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump said the administration had entered the next stage of Gaza’s “20-point peace plan,” presenting the move as a key milestone in his effort to shape a postwar outcome for the enclave.
“As Steve Witkoff announced, we have officially entered the next phase of Gaza’s 20-point peace plan,” Trump wrote.
Trump also pointed to humanitarian aid deliveries since the ceasefire as groundwork for the next stage.
“Since the ceasefire, my team has helped deliver record levels of humanitarian aid to Gaza, reaching civilians at historic speed and scale,” he wrote, adding that “even the United Nations has acknowledged this achievement as unprecedented.”
Beyond aid, Trump’s posts outlined a governance transition he said would be led by what he described as “a newly appointed Palestinian technocratic government,” naming it “the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza,” which he said would govern Gaza during a transition period.
Trump emphasized that the plan’s security pillar centers on Hamas disarmament and the dismantling of its underground infrastructure.
“With the support of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar, we will secure a comprehensive demilitarization agreement with Hamas, including the surrender of all weapons, and the dismantling of every tunnel,” he wrote.
He also demanded immediate compliance, saying Hamas “must immediately honor its commitments, including the return of the final body to Israel, and proceed without delay to full demilitarization.”
In a separate post, Trump announced the formation of what he called “the Board of Peace,” saying its members would be named soon. “I can say with certainty that it is the greatest and most prestigious board ever assembled at any time, any place,” he wrote.
Witkoff had referenced the shift a day earlier, describing it as the formal launch of the next stage of Trump’s broader 20-point proposal to end the war.
The White House has not released a detailed timeline for implementation or clarified how enforcement mechanisms would work if Hamas refuses to disarm.
Trump concluded his posts with a familiar slogan: “Peace through strength.”
