Israel defeated Nicaragua 5–0 to earn its first win in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

Israel beat Nicaragua in the first game of the 2023 edition of the World Baseball Classic.

Exceeding expectations, Team Israel beat higher-ranking teams and progressed to the second round of the World Baseball Classic.

In an historic victory, Israel won the World Baseball Classic opener against South Korea.

Israel will play the winner of the Great Britain-Pakistan game on Sunday. The winner of that game will travel to South Korea to play in the 16-team classic next March.

Team Israel will consist of 47 athletes and will compete in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil against athletes from around the world in 16 sports.
