'This is an opportunity that the Holy One, blessed be He, has given us to return to our land,' Netanyahu said.

'They had a state in Gaza and they tried to destroy the only Jewish state. Therefore Israel will not establish a state that will be committed to its destruction.'

In a press conference on Sunday night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu outlined the goals of Israel's military operation in Gaza.
