Israeli's energy minister has greenlit a boost in gas exports to Egypt from the offshore Tamar field.

The size makes Katlan Israel’s fourth-largest gas reserve. Energean is already developing the Karish, Karish North and Tanin offshore reserves, as well as several blocks in the larger Tamar gas field.

The State of Israel ranks as the eighth most powerful country in the world, despite its relatively small size and population, according to the Best Countries ranking of 2019.
