Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant Friday and told him that 'the U.S. will defend Israel if attacked.'

The $1 billion military aid shipment to Israel will include $700 million in tank ammunition, $500 million in tactical vehicles, and $60 million in mortar rounds.

The munitions in question include JDAM bombs, equipment to convert the weapons to precision-guided bombs, and Small Diameter Bombs.

US President Joe Biden last week called for an 'immediate ceasefire' and threatened to pull back support for Israel.

While many other Democratic politicians openly oppose sending military aid, President Biden is holding steadfast.
