The injured soldier saw that a Megillah scroll in Sri Lanka was dedicated to a commander who had fallen in the same battle in which he was wounded.

From the Torah’s perspective, a great leader is one who has no ego and is able to “lower” himself to care for those who are “beneath him.”

As we can learn from Mordechai, one of the Purim heroes, a great person and a great leader is determined by the way he (or she!) treats the 'little guys!'
