Rinthalak was killed during the Hamas-led Oct. 7 attacks and his body was taken to the Gaza Strip, where it was held by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. He worked in agriculture and was abducted from the orchards of Kibbutz Be’eri.

Gaza-based terror groups continue to hold the bodies of three hostages, including two Israelis and one Thai, in clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Including Rudaeff, taken from the Kibbutz Nir Yitzchak, 23 hostage bodies have been returned in exchange for 300 bodies of Palestinians, though not all have been identified, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
