Israel's Defense Ministry attributed the surge to strong global demand for Israel’s combat-proven systems, as well as reforms aimed at expanding markets and easing export regulations.
Israel also ranked as the 14th-largest arms importer in the same period, with the United States supplying 68 percent of its acquisitions, Germany 31 percent, and Italy one percent.
This growth is largely attributed to missile, rocket, and air defense systems, which accounted for 36% of the total agreements in 2023, a substantial increase from 19% in 2022.
