Cymbio’s technology is designed to simplify complex supply chains, enabling retailers to expand their offerings without the logistical burden of holding stock.

PayPal is acquiring Israeli startup Cymbio in a deal that market sources estimate to be worth between $150 million and $200 million.

The Tel Aviv–based company, founded in 2015 by Roy Avidor, Gilad Zirkel and Mor Lavi, employs about 80 people and specializes in automating dropshipping — a retail model in which sellers offer products they do not physically hold in inventory.

Instead, orders are fulfilled directly by manufacturers or wholesalers. Cymbio’s platform links global brands including New Balance, Billabong and Lacoste with retailers, enabling them to manage listings, sales and order flows through a centralized system.

Cymbio experienced challenging periods before the COVID-19 pandemic but has since seen steady growth, with revenue rising consistently in recent years as e-commerce and distributed retail models expanded.

Over its more than a decade of operations, Cymbio raised less than $30 million from investors. Its backers include XT Venture Capital, led by Udi Angel as the largest investor, along with Vertex, Corner Ventures and PayPal’s own venture arm. According to PitchBook, the company was valued at $97 million in 2021.

The acquisition reflects PayPal’s continued push to strengthen its role in the infrastructure powering online commerce, particularly in systems that connect brands and sellers without relying on traditional warehousing.

Cymbio’s technology is designed to simplify complex supply chains, enabling retailers to expand their offerings without the logistical challenges of managing inventory. For brands, the system offers a way to distribute products across multiple sales channels while maintaining oversight of inventory and orders.

The purchase represents another notable exit for Israel’s tech sector, particularly in the field of e-commerce infrastructure, where local startups continue to attract major global players.
