Josh Hammer, a conservative commentator and Newsweek editor-at-large, said during an appearance on “The Erin Molan Show” that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is allegedly overseeing a covert effort from her office to push antisemitic narratives through influencer networks, citing information he said came from multiple Washington insiders.

The remarks were made in the context of a discussion about the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination last September and the leak of private messages from a group chat that included Hammer.

He said the information had been shared with him by individuals in Washington’s conservative circles who maintain connections to the White House.

“I was told by numerous people who are very much part of the conservative ecosystem in D.C.—these are well-sourced people [with] strong connections to the White House—to be strongly on the lookout for Tulsi Gabbard and her office,” Hammer stated.

“They basically said that Tulsi Gabbard is running something of a shadow operation from her office. I was told she’s personally actually very anti-Semitic and that she feeds some of these narratives there.”

Hammer also referenced the resignation of Joe Kent, who had served under Gabbard as director of the National Counterterrorism Center. He said Kent circulated antisemitic conspiracy theories following Kirk’s death, including in his resignation letter, and said he did not find those positions surprising given Gabbard’s influence.

He said the alleged effort involves shaping narratives and distributing them to sympathetic influencers.

The interview quickly drew attention online after clips spread across X.

Reactions were divided, with some users saying the comments exposed tensions within the Trump administration, while others rejected the claims as unsubstantiated and reliant on unnamed sources, pointing to broader disputes over U.S. policy toward Israel and Iran.

“This is disgustingly false,” said Gabbard’s chief of staff, demanding an apology.
