“President Trump and I agreed that any final agreement with Iran must eliminate the nuclear danger,” Netanyahu wrote.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the potential U.S.-Iran deal for the first time on Sunday, following a call with U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday night, emphasizing that any agreement must fully dismantle Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.
In a post, Netanyahu said the two leaders discussed efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and upcoming negotiations toward a final nuclear agreement.
“President Trump and I agreed that any final agreement with Iran must eliminate the nuclear danger,” Netanyahu wrote. “That means dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites and removing its enriched nuclear material from its territory.”
Netanyahu also underscored continued U.S. backing for Israel’s security posture, saying Trump “reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon.”
“The partnership between us and our two countries has been proven on the battlefield and has never been stronger,” he added, reiterating that his policy remains unchanged: “Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”
Trump, in separate posts, also addressed the potential deal, pushing back against critics while insisting that any agreement would be fundamentally different from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
“If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and proper one, not like the one made by Obama,” Trump wrote, adding that “our deal is the exact opposite.”
He emphasized that negotiations are still ongoing and not yet finalized, warning against premature criticism.
“It isn’t even fully negotiated yet,” Trump said. “So don’t listen to the losers, who are critical about something they know nothing about.”
In an earlier post, Trump called the Obama-era agreement “one of the worst deals ever made” and said the current negotiations are being conducted in a “much more professional and productive” manner.
He added that the U.S. is not rushing toward an agreement, noting that “time is on our side” and that pressure on Iran, including a blockade, would remain in place until a final deal is reached.
The statements come amid ongoing negotiations and conflicting reports over key elements of a potential agreement, particularly regarding Iran’s nuclear program and enriched uranium stockpile, as both sides signal progress while major issues remain unresolved.
