“We know how to fight, and our path is to ensure the eternity of Israel,” Netanyahu said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a defiant and forward-looking address Thursday night at a Jerusalem Day gathering at the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, blending reflections on Jewish history with a message of continued military resolve.
Recalling a previous visit to the yeshiva during the holiday of Purim, Netanyahu said history had once again turned in Israel’s favor. “When those who sought to destroy us rose up, they disappeared,” he said. “At the moment of truth, we stood tall and fought back. We are no longer confined. We go out, expand, and strike our enemies.”
He also addressed the ongoing war, emphasizing Israel’s position in Gaza. “We did not retreat, and today we control about 60% of the Gaza Strip. Tomorrow we will see,” Netanyahu said. “The war is not over. We know how to fight, and our path is to ensure the eternity of Israel.”
Netanyahu further described recent developments as part of a broader strategic shift, saying Israel has removed “the chokehold of the Iranian axis,” while stressing perseverance. “Even if great ideas are not realized immediately, we must not break. We continue with renewed strength. In the end, the truth will prevail.”
At the same event, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for sweeping changes to Israel’s policy in Judea and Samaria, including eliminating the administrative divisions between Areas A, B, and C.
Smotrich said he had submitted a detailed plan to the Cabinet and urged its adoption, reiterating that “the entire Land of Israel belongs to us.” He also pointed to expanded settlement activity and recent housing approvals as part of what he described as a historic shift.
Turning to the war, Smotrich cited the killing of senior terror figures, including Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, and Hassan Nasrallah, and referenced legislation aimed at prosecuting Nukhba terrorists.
He concluded by invoking Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook’s teachings as “the spiritual engine” of Israel’s national revival, stressing the importance of continued building. “Tonight we celebrate the miracle, and tomorrow we continue the work, through building and planting.”
