Migdal Ohr campaign funds dorms and shelters for at-risk Israeli teens rejected by the Haredi system.

Migdal Ohr’s ambitious fundraising campaign, Every Child Deserves a Home, has exceeded expectations by raising over £1 million ($1.36 million) in just 36 hours to fund emergency dormitories and bomb shelters for at-risk boys in Israel.
The campaign, held from June 22 to 23, 2025, drew global support, with donations pouring in from across the UK, France, Israel, and beyond.
The funds will go toward expanding facilities at Zoharim Youth Village, a unique residential community for teenage boys who have been rejected by the ultra-Orthodox education system and, in many cases, by their families.
These teens—many of whom have experienced trauma, neglect, and displacement are offered a second chance at Zoharim through education, therapy, and structured programs.
The success of the campaign comes as Israel continues to face ongoing security threats following the October 7 attacks. With the heightened need for safe housing, the campaign struck a chord with supporters around the world.
“Bringing together our communities showcases our strength as one big family, caring for each other in times of need,” said Amit Fraser, CEO of Migdal Ohr Europe. “This campaign is a testament to the deep compassion and unity that define the global Jewish community.”
Founded to serve boys ages 14 to 18 who cannot thrive within traditional ultra-Orthodox frameworks, Zoharim provides more than just shelter. It offers a values-based education, emotional support, and paths to full matriculation and military service, all tools for becoming contributing members of society.
Fraser added, “This campaign is about more than building dormitories; it’s about restoring dignity, stability, and hope to children of Israel who have lost so much.”
