A man dressed as a Nazi Gestapo officer was arrested after smashing a glass beer pitcher into a Jewish woman’s face outside a bar in Athens, Georgia, late Thursday night, authorities said.

Police identified the suspect as Kenneth Leland Morgan, who allegedly tried to enter Cutters Pub wearing a full Nazi uniform, complete with a red armband bearing a swastika. Several outraged patrons blocked his entry and demanded that he leave.

Video footage shows Morgan laughing as a woman pushed him away, shouting, “Get the f*** out.” Moments later, he allegedly struck Grace Lang, a Jewish student at the University of Georgia, in the face with the beer pitcher, breaking her nose.

Lang told The Red and Black that she stepped in after Morgan began shouting at two women. “I tried to rip off his swastika armband,” she said, describing how the confrontation escalated into violence. “He was grinning ear to ear the entire time, including while assaulting me.”

Morgan was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor battery.

In recent years, Georgia has seen a rise in antisemitic activity. According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the state recorded 80 incidents in 2022, up from 49 in 2021, many involving antisemitic flyers and vandalism.

Last year, Governor Brian Kemp signed a law defining antisemitism in state legislation, reaffirming Georgia’s commitment to protecting Jewish residents and ensuring that “there’s no place for hate in this great state.”

Since Hamas’s brutal October 7 massacre in Israel, Jewish communities across the United States have faced a sharp increase in antisemitic threats and harassment. The Athens attack is a chilling reminder that hatred toward Jews—whether in Israel or America—must be confronted with zero tolerance.
