Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael–Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) has approved six million shekels in aid to support northern frontline communities near the border, including a program to relocate thousands of families to hotels for respite during the Passover holiday, Ynet reported.

The funding, approved at a meeting of the KKL management board, will primarily benefit residents living 2-0 km from the border fence.

The hospitality initiative is expected to serve approximately 5,000 residents over the holiday break and intermediate days, operating in four rounds.

The program includes full hotel accommodation, meals, educational respite activities, and organized transportation, providing families a temporary break from ongoing security conditions.

KKL-JNF has also assisted families who have had to evacuate from areas such as Beit Shemesh because of the war.

Amid the ongoing war in Israel with Iran, the organization has launched additional programs for residents whose homes were damaged by missile attacks.

These initiatives include activities at hotels where evacuees are temporarily staying, as well as at other locations across northern, central, and southern Israel.

The first program was held at the Leonardo Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem, which is hosting around 300 evacuees from Beit Shemesh. Activities included interactive drumming workshops, group sing-alongs, crafting using recycled materials, and youth-focused programming.

Additional services were provided at the Leonardo Hotel in Be’er Sheba and at a school in Mitzpe Ramon for evacuees.

Around 100 evacuees attended Kabbalat Shabbat services at the Leonardo Dead Sea Hotel.

Separately, KKL-JNF is leading a broader community support initiative with youth movements, pre-military programs, and student villages. Volunteers are helping to clean and prepare shelters for use and are distributing food packages and meals to senior citizens.
