Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has reportedly relocated to a fortified underground shelter in Tehran after senior military and security officials warned the risk of a potential U.S. attack has increased, according to opposition-linked Iran International.
The report describes a hardened site with interconnected tunnels and says Masoud Khamenei, identified as the supreme leader’s third son, has taken over day-to-day management of the leader’s office, serving as the main channel to Iran’s executive branches. The claims have not been independently confirmed.
The reported move comes as Washington signals heightened readiness in the region, with President Trump publicly warning Tehran and describing major U.S. military assets moving toward the Middle East.
Iran, for its part, is escalating its rhetoric: a senior Iranian official told Reuters that any U.S. strike, limited or otherwise, would be treated as “all-out war,” with Iran “ready for the worst-case scenario.”
