Israeli FoodTech startup SOLVEAT has announced a long-term partnership with The Central Bottling Co. (CBC Group) to develop a new generation of functional beverages that combine taste with proven health benefits.
The collaboration, which includes CBC subsidiary Gat Foods, will focus on creating soft drinks infused with SOLVEAT’s patented botanical formulations aimed at supporting metabolic wellness, balanced blood sugar, and other health needs.
Research and development will be conducted at SOLVEAT’s facilities together with CBC’s innovation center, CORE, and clinicians from Sheba Medical Center.
CBC President Yoram Sagy said the company’s goal is to align innovation with consumer demand for healthier choices. “We’re delighted to partner with SOLVEAT to elevate soft drinks into functional beverages that are not only refreshing but also a daily source of well-being,” he said in a press release.
SOLVEAT has developed a platform that integrates science-backed herbal compositions into everyday foods—such as snack bars, cereals, and drinks—without changing flavor or texture.
Its microencapsulation technology masks bitterness, preserves bioactivity under heat, and allows controlled release of the natural compounds.
“The challenge with botanicals is that they often taste bitter,” explained SOLVEAT co-founder Dr. Zacki Nudelman. “Our proprietary microencapsulation process keeps the functional ingredients stable and palatable while maintaining their benefits.”
Unlike typical single-ingredient supplements, SOLVEAT’s system can encapsulate complex blends of botanicals, making them adaptable for a wide range of food and beverage applications.
The company plans pilot sales of its first formula—targeting blood-sugar balance—early next year.
Additional compositions for immune and metabolic support are in development, with production capacity reaching about 600 tons per year through contract manufacturers.
“We’re proud to team up with one of the global beverage industry’s leaders,” said SOLVEAT CEO and co-founder Udi Peretz. “Together we’re introducing a new category of drinks that deliver both enjoyment and wellness.”
The partnership reflects growing consumer interest in “food as medicine.” According to a survey by the International Food Information Council, 76 percent of consumers believe their food choices directly affect their physical and emotional well-being.
