CarobWay, based in central Israel, is positioning itself as a global player in clean-label food ingredients.

Israeli food technology company CarobWay has launched CarobBiome, a new prebiotic fiber derived from carob fruit, designed to meet the global demand for natural solutions that support gut and metabolic health.
The ingredients were showcased at IFT FIRST 2025, the annual food innovation conference in Chicago, which ran from January 14-16.
CarobBiome is composed of 85% dietary fiber and includes a blend of soluble and insoluble fibers.
According to the company, it supports digestive function while helping regulate appetite and blood sugar levels. The soluble portion slows digestion, promoting a longer feeling of fullness—an effect that may benefit individuals using GLP-1 therapies for weight management.
Unlike many existing fibers that cause bloating or discomfort, CarobWay says its formulation is gentle on the digestive system. “
Not all prebiotics are equal,” said CEO and co-founder Udi Alroy. “While many fibers on the market can cause some level of stomach discomfort, CarobBiome is specifically designed to ease bloating and maintain a happy tummy.
“Moreover, it is completely natural, vegan and allows for a clean, simple ingredients label.”
The launch comes as consumer interest in functional ingredients continues to grow. A recent report by Innova Market Insights ranks fiber as the second most sought-after functional ingredient after protein, particularly among younger consumers focused on digestive health and nutrient-dense foods.
CarobBiome’s mild flavor and heat stability make it versatile for use in baked goods, snack bars, meal replacements and other processed foods.
Its sustainability profile also sets it apart. Sourced from upcycled carob pulp, the ingredient supports a zero-waste model. The carob tree, native to the Mediterranean, grows well in harsh climates with minimal water and no chemical inputs.
This innovation highlights Israel’s growing role in sustainable agri-tech and functional nutrition.
