A new international research hub dedicated to pediatric brain tumors has been formally launched in Israel, with organizers positioning ARI-PST as a central platform for collaboration, funding, and innovation in pediatric neuro-oncology.

“We are excited to officially introduce ARI-PST as the central hub for pediatric brain tumor research—a place where collaborations flourish, resources are shared, and groundbreaking research takes shape.

We will be launching new initiatives, hosting collaborative meetings, and continuing to foster global partnerships,” the ARI-PST team said in a statement.

The initiative is housed at the Aryeh Kluger Research Center within the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Department at Shaare Zedek Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital.

ARI-PST is designed to connect researchers, clinicians, and industry partners by offering shared infrastructure, research tools, and a centralized platform for proposals and partnerships.

Organizers say the hub will support preclinical and clinical research through a growing network of collaborations, access to advanced laboratory techniques, and the development of a biobank initiative that is currently underway.

The platform will also provide regular updates on international conferences, funding opportunities, and visiting experts in pediatric brain tumor research.

The center is named in memory of Aryeh Natanel Kluger, a New York-born child known for his creativity, kindness, and determination, who was diagnosed in March 2022 with a rare brain cancer: anaplastic pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma.

Over the course of a year of intensive treatment, Aryeh underwent multiple surgeries, radiation, and medication while continuing to hike, travel, and take part in celebrations.

Friends and family described Aryeh as an avid reader, a young software developer, and a natural entrepreneur.

In the final months of his life, he set out to raise money on his own for a prized Iron Man helmet, working small jobs and collecting bottles for recycling until he reached his goal in time for Purim in 2023.

ARI-PST’s founders say the center reflects Aryeh’s spirit of optimism, generosity, and problem-solving. Researchers are encouraged to share projects, propose new initiatives, and use the platform to expand global cooperation in pediatric brain tumor research.

Aryeh Natanel Kluger was born on December 26, 2010, and died on March 23, 2023. Organizers say his legacy will continue through work aimed at improving outcomes for children facing similar diagnoses.
