Following the attack, the Prime Minister’s Office accused Hamas of continuing to violate both the ceasefire agreement and President Donald Trump’s 20-point framework.

Hamas committed yet another ceasefire violation on Wednesday when an explosive device was detonated against an Israeli armored vehicle during an IDF operational mission in the Rafah area, wounding an officer, Israeli officials said.
According to the IDF, the incident occurred amid ongoing operations to clear the area of terrorist infrastructure. The officer was lightly wounded and evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment. His family was notified.
Following the attack, the Prime Minister’s Office accused Hamas of continuing to violate both the ceasefire agreement and President Donald Trump’s 20-point framework.
“The Hamas terror organization continues to violate the ceasefire and President Trump’s 20-point plan. Their ongoing and continuing public refusal to disarm is an ongoing flagrant violation, and again today their violent intentions and violations were confirmed by their detonation of an IED that wounded an IDF officer,” the Prime Minister’s Office said.
“Hamas must be held to the agreement that they signed, which includes removal from governance, demilitarization, and de-radicalization. Israel will respond accordingly,” the statement added.
Israeli officials have repeatedly warned that Hamas has carried out a series of violations throughout the ceasefire period, including continued terror activity, and failure to meet key obligations under the agreement.
Among the unresolved issues is Hamas’ continued holding of the body of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, which Israel says remains in the terror group’s possession in violation of the agreement.
The latest incident comes as the United States is pressing to advance discussions toward a second phase of the ceasefire, just days before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to travel to the United States for high-stakes meetings with President Trump.
With Hamas continuing to defy its commitments, Israeli leaders have made clear that further violations will not be absorbed quietly.
