The IDF continued to operate on both the northern and southern fronts over the weekend, eliminating terrorists and striking enemy infrastructure as Hezbollah and Gaza-based groups persist in their violations and attempts to threaten Israeli forces and communities.

In Gaza on Sunday, an armed terrorist was identified crossing the designated yellow line toward IDF troops in northern Gaza in yet another breach of the ceasefire arrangement. IDF forces detected the infiltrator advancing into the restricted zone and creating an immediate threat to soldiers.

The air force, guided by the troops on the ground, carried out a swift strike that eliminated the terrorist. The IDF said forces under Southern Command will continue to neutralize any immediate danger as terrorist groups in Gaza repeatedly test the ceasefire with armed infiltrations, shooting incidents and the continued refusal to return the bodies of Israeli and foreign hostages.

Along the northern border, tensions continued to rise as Hezbollah intensified its activity across southern Lebanon. Over the weekend, forces from the 228th and 300th brigades, operating under Division 91, carried out targeted raids in several villages where Hezbollah has tried to rebuild and expand its terror network.

In Aitaroun, the 228th brigade demolished structures used by Hezbollah terrorists, structures the terror group had recently begun attempting to restore. In Ramyeh, the 300th brigade located and destroyed weapons and military equipment, including rifles, Kalashnikov-type weapons, magazines and ammunition.

The IDF reported that over the past week, with support from the air force and military intelligence, division forces struck five Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon and eliminated three terrorists. The military stated that these operations will continue as long as Hezbollah maintains its campaign of aggression against Israeli communities and soldiers.

The escalation continued Sunday night when the IDF targeted a Hezbollah terrorist in the village of al-Mansouri. The air force, operating under the direction of Division 91, struck and killed Muhammad Ali Shweikh, whom the IDF identified as Hezbollah’s local representative in the village.

According to the military, Shweikh served as a key link between Hezbollah and local residents in both military and economic affairs and was involved in the takeover of private property for terrorist activities. The IDF said his conduct violated understandings between Israel and Lebanon and represented part of Hezbollah’s broader attempt to expand its presence in civilian areas.

“The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat and defend the State of Israel,” the military said.

Israel continues to confront simultaneous threats from both Gaza and Lebanon, with terrorist groups exploiting every opportunity to challenge Israeli security and destabilize the region.

As these attacks persist, the IDF remains focused on proactive, precision operations to neutralize danger before it reaches Israeli communities. The ongoing activity on both fronts demonstrates that Israel must remain vigilant, ready to respond at any moment and committed to defending its citizens against those who seek to harm them.
