Israel’s pageant history includes notable international success. Rina Mor won Miss Universe in 1976, while Linor Abargil took the Miss World crown in 1998.
A 26-year-old entrepreneur from Caesarea will represent Israel at Miss Universe 2025 after winning the national title this past week.
Melanie Shiraz captured the Miss Universe Israel 2025 crown Thursday at the Hilton Miami Aventura Hotel, beating out ten other contestants from cities across the Jewish State.
Outgoing titleholder Ofir Korsia handed over the crown at the ceremony, which marked the second straight year organizers held the Israeli national competition in Florida rather than at home.
Shiraz brings a background in innovation, advocacy and the arts to her new role. Beyond her entrepreneurial work, she’s focused on uplifting women, amplifying underrepresented voices, and strengthening pride around the world.
“My connection to Israel is central to who I am. I grew up between cultures, always carrying my Israeli identity with pride, and spent years involved in Jewish and Israeli communities both in Israel and abroad,” says Shiraz on her bio.
“This platform isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up authentically, standing for something meaningful, and representing Israel in a way that is bold, beautiful, and deeply human.”
Israel’s pageant history includes notable international success. Rina Mor won Miss Universe in 1976, while Linor Abargil took the Miss World crown in 1998.
Gal Gadot won Miss Israel in 2004 before launching her Hollywood career as Wonder Woman, though she didn’t place at Miss Universe that year.
Shiraz’s victory sets up Israel’s second consecutive appearance at Miss Universe after the country’s absence from 2022-2023. Korsia went unplaced at last year’s competition in Mexico City.
This year’s competition will take place November 21 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Thailand. Current Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark will crown her successor at the event.
