Abd al-Halim was actively involved in advancing terror plots against Israeli forces in recent weeks.

The IDF announced Monday that it carried out a precise overnight strike in the Baalbek area, eliminating Wael Mahmoud Abd al-Halim, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander operating in Lebanon’s Beqaa region.
According to the military, Abd al-Halim played a key role in integrating PIJ operatives into ongoing fighting alongside Hezbollah and was actively involved in advancing terror plots against Israeli forces in recent weeks.
The strike comes amid continued Israeli operations across southern Lebanon aimed at disrupting terrorist activity and preventing attacks on Israeli troops and civilians.
Over the past 24 hours, the IDF said it targeted more than 30 Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon. The strikes included weapons storage facilities, observation posts, and buildings used by operatives to plan and carry out attacks.
In addition, several Hezbollah terrorists were killed in precise strikes while attempting to advance terror activity against Israeli forces operating in the area.
The IDF said it will continue to act to remove threats against Israeli civilians and military personnel as operations in southern Lebanon remain ongoing despite the broader ceasefire framework.
