Images shared on social media show posters featuring Adolf Hitler and a quote attributed to him displayed in several Iranian cities, including Babolsar and Kermanshah, as authorities intensify a wartime campaign targeting alleged collaborators, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The posters carry a Persian-language message directed at Iranians accused of cooperating with foreign enemies. “The worst human beings are those who cooperated with me in the occupation of their country by a foreigner,” the text reads in a quote attributed to Hitler.
It continues, “Anyone who is happy about the occupation of his country is like someone who is happy about the violation of his mother.”
Some users who circulated the images said the quote was fabricated and criticized the use of Hitler’s image in public messaging.
One widely shared image appears to show the poster placed beneath a larger display of Mojtaba Khamenei, identified as Iran’s new supreme leader.
“The Iranian regime displays side by side, Mojtaba Khamenei…and Hitler in several cities in the North. Yes, Hitler,” one post on social media stated. “6 million Jews exterminated. Erected as a symbol of resistance. This regime is not only seeking to fight Israel, it nurtures and assumes a deeply antisemitic worldview. Hatred of Jews is at the heart of their ideology.”
The images surfaced as Iranian authorities expand efforts to crack down on what they describe as internal threats linked to cooperation with Israel, the United States, or opposition media abroad.
In recent months, officials have reported multiple arrests tied to such allegations. Reuters reported on March 19 that Iran’s intelligence ministry detained 97 people accused of being “soldiers of Israel,” while authorities in Alborz province separately announced 41 arrests involving individuals accused of sending videos to opposition outlets.
