Israel had ordered the destruction of all bridges over the Litani River used for Hezbollah activity.

The Israel Defense Forces announced Sunday evening that it destroyed a key crossing over the Litani River in southern Lebanon used by Hezbollah terrorists to move between areas north and south of the river.
According to the IDF, the crossing was used by Hezbollah terrorists and commanders to transport weapons, rockets, and launchers into the area south of the Litani River, from which attacks have been launched against Israeli civilians and IDF forces.
The military said the crossing was targeted to disrupt Hezbollah logistics and prevent attacks against Israeli communities as well as Lebanese civilians caught in the fighting.
The strike was part of a broader wave of Israeli airstrikes in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon, where the IDF said approximately 15 Hezbollah command centers were targeted in the same round of operations.
The military said operations against Hezbollah infrastructure will continue, noting that Hezbollah chose to join the war under the backing of the Iranian regime and that Israel will not allow attacks against its civilians.
Earlier Sunday, Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel had ordered the destruction of all bridges over the Litani River used for Hezbollah activity in order to prevent the movement of fighters and weapons southward.
He also said Israel would accelerate the destruction of buildings in frontline Lebanese villages used to threaten Israeli communities, referencing the model used in Beit Hanoun and Rafah in Gaza to remove threats near the border.
Later Sunday afternoon, reports emerged that the IDF had struck the Al-Qasmiya Bridge connected to the Litani River. By Monday morning, Arab media reported that the Israeli Air Force had also destroyed the Al-Qaqaiyah Bridge over the Litani River.
According to regional reports, the Israeli Air Force has now struck three major bridges crossing the Litani River: Az-Zrariya, Al-Qasmiya, and Al-Qaqaiyah. Two major bridges remain: Al-Khardali and Al-Buruz, along with a number of smaller unofficial crossings over the river.
The strikes appear to be part of a broader Israeli strategy to cut Hezbollah supply routes, restrict the movement of fighters and weapons into southern Lebanon, and isolate Hezbollah forces operating closer to the Israeli border.
The ongoing strikes indicate an expanding Israeli effort to reshape the battlefield in southern Lebanon by severing Hezbollah’s transportation routes, targeting command infrastructure, and pushing the threat further away from Israel’s northern communities.
