The confirmation came four months after Israel publicly announced his elimination.

Earlier Monday, the Hamas terror organization announced it would issue a statement, calling it “important,” without providing further details.
Hours later, Hamas formally confirmed the elimination of Abu Ubaida, the longtime spokesperson of its military wing, acknowledging for the first time that he was killed in an Israeli strike.
The confirmation came four months after Israel publicly announced his elimination, an assessment approved at the time by Defense Minister Israel Katz.
During the statement, Hamas also introduced a new military spokesperson after confirming the death of Abu Ubaida, one of the terror group’s most recognizable public figures.
In addition, Hamas acknowledged the deaths of several other senior terrorists, including Ra’ad Sa’ad, Mohammed Sinwar, Mohammed Shabana, and Hakam al-Issa, also known as Abu Omar al-Suri. As part of the announcement, Hamas released a photo of Abu Ubaida with his face visible.

Responding to the statement, IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee said the announcement confirmed what Israel had stated months earlier.
“And today, after four months of waiting, they confirm exactly what we said,” Adraee said. “They themselves put an end to a long campaign of lies, lies, and more lies directed at their own public.”
He concluded by saying, “Did we not tell you that the truth lies only with us?”
