“We must prepare for a scenario like October 7 there, which could erupt at any moment.”

Israeli forces in Hebron on Saturday night stopped a Palestinian car-ramming attack at the Police Circle, where a terrorist attempted to run down an IDF foot patrol.
The soldiers immediately opened fire and killed the attacker. One Israeli soldier was lightly injured.
The IDF spokesperson stated that “a short while ago, two terrorists accelerated their vehicle toward forces of the Paratroopers Brigade, who were on an operational mission at a police checkpoint in the Yehuda Regional Brigade. The forces fired at the terrorists and eliminated them.” A later update confirmed that an uninvolved civilian at the scene was also hit.
This marked the second attempted vehicle attack in the area in less than a week. Last Monday, a female soldier was lightly wounded when another terrorist rammed his vehicle into her. She was evacuated for treatment, and after hours of searching, the assailant was located and killed by the 202nd Paratroopers Battalion after attempting yet again to ram troops pursuing him.
A senior Israeli security official expressed deep concern about the broader situation in Judea and Samaria. Speaking to Channel 14 News, he said, “Judea and Samaria is the arena that worries us the most. We are not strong enough there in intelligence. We will still encounter the weapons that entered the area during the war. We must prepare for a scenario like October 7 there, which could erupt at any moment.”
The latest attack came shortly after the IDF wrapped up a major counterterror mission in northern Samaria. Over two weeks, Israeli forces eliminated several terrorists, arrested numerous wanted suspects and seized large amounts of cash and weapons intended for future attacks. More than 30 targeted strikes were carried out under Operation Five Stones, designed to prevent terror networks from rebuilding.
