Senior intelligence and military figures reject Hamas’ claims that it does not know where the remains are located.

Israeli officials say Hamas is deliberately withholding the remains of deceased hostages in Gaza, a clear breach of the ceasefire deal brokered under the Trump administration.

Sources suggest the terror group is using the bodies as leverage to gain political and strategic advantage over Israel.

According to Hebrew outlet Walla, senior intelligence and military figures reject Hamas’s claims that it does not know where the remains are located.

The 18 hostages include an IDF soldier who died in Operation Protective Edge, two Israeli-American citizens, and two foreign nationals.

Officials have reportedly assured international mediators that Hamas “has precise information about the location of the bodies” and is intentionally keeping them from Israel.

In response, Israel has closed the Rafah crossing with Egypt and has indicated it will not reopen it until all remains are returned.

Walla reported that Israeli officials have proposed multiple solutions for returning the bodies: transferring them through the Red Cross, allowing an international peacekeeping team to recover them, or conducting a joint U.S.-Israel operation inside Gaza to retrieve them directly.

Although the ceasefire stipulates that Hamas must return all hostages’ remains, the agreement does not specify a deadline.

Jared Kushner, who helped broker the ceasefire and was a key architect of the Abraham Accords, told 60 Minutes he believes Hamas is trying to comply. “We have seen [Hamas] looking to honor their agreement,” he said.

Israel demands that Hamas immediately return the remains of all deceased hostages, criticizing the terror group’s ongoing refusal to comply with the ceasefire agreement.
