The footage depicts Sabine’s husband, Gil Taasa, rushing his two young sons into the backyard bomb shelter as Hamas terrorists stormed the home.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday met with Sabine Taasa, who lost her husband and son in the October 7 Hamas massacre, and jointly unveiled security camera footage from the assault on her family’s home in Moshav Netiv Haasara.
The video, released as part of Israel’s global public diplomacy campaign, was described as “extremely difficult to watch.”
In a pre-recorded statement, Netanyahu declared: “We’ll destroy Hamas, we’ll bring our hostages home, because we remember October 7, and so should you.”
While he said the footage had never been shown publicly, portions aired on Israel’s Channel 12 in March 2024.
The footage depicts Sabine’s husband, Gil Taasa, rushing his two young sons into the backyard bomb shelter as Hamas terrorists stormed the home.

When a grenade was hurled inside, Gil threw himself on it, sacrificing his life to shield his children from the blast. His body is seen collapsing moments later.
The boys, traumatized and dressed only in their underwear, were then forced into the family’s blood-stained kitchen.
One pleaded in English, “Please, please, please. Let me go home!” before crying out, “My dad! My dad!”
A Hamas terrorist opened the refrigerator, offered the boys juice or wine, then left with a bottle of Coca-Cola.
During Thursday’s meeting, Sabine spoke of her children’s painful rehabilitation and the devastating loss of their father and older brother, who was killed earlier that morning while on his way to the beach with friends.
The Prime Minister’s Office gave no reason for releasing the video at this time, though the move comes as Israel faces international criticism over its planned assault on Gaza City and shortly after a United Nations-backed initiative declared famine in northern Gaza.
