Israeli and US cybersecurity companies are teaming up to make sure life-saving medical devices don’t become targets for hackers.
C2A Security, an Israeli firm that builds tools to manage cybersecurity for complex products, is partnering with U.S.-based Medcrypt, which specializes in keeping medical equipment safe from cyber threats.
Together, they aim to help device makers lock down everything from hospital scanners to wearable monitors—protecting both patients and sensitive health data.
The deal will combine Medcrypt’s encryption and digital ID technology with C2A’s platform, which oversees a product’s security from design to the end product.
This means manufacturers can build security in from day one, rather than scrambling to fix vulnerabilities later.
The healthcare industry has become a tempting target for hackers as more medical devices connect to the internet.
A cyberattack could delay treatment, shut down critical equipment, or leak private patient information.
Regulators like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are now demanding tougher safeguards, putting pressure on manufacturers to meet higher standards.
“This partnership delivers on a clear market need,” Bob Lyle, Medcrypt’s chief revenue officer, told Our Crowd. “We’re helping companies automate security, stay compliant, and keep development moving quickly—all without sacrificing safety.”
Roy Fridman, C2A’s CEO, said the move reflects a bigger shift in healthcare. “Innovation is bringing incredible new tools for patients, but it also brings new risks. We’re making sure those risks are managed before they become problems,” he said.
By working together, the two companies hope to give hospitals and patients more confidence in the connected technology that powers modern medicine—ensuring the focus stays on healing, not hacking.
