Israeli-founded medical tech company OSSIO is making headlines again with the release of its latest innovation: the OSSIOfiber 2.5mm Suture Anchor.
This small but powerful implant is part of the company’s mission to revolutionize orthopedic surgery with bio-integrative, metal-free devices that promote natural healing and eliminate the long-term risks associated with traditional implants.
Designed for soft-tissue fixation procedures, such as the Brostrom repair to treat lateral ankle instability, the new anchors are smaller than ever, but stronger and smarter. They boast 55% greater pull-out strength than leading suture anchors and are engineered from OSSIO’s proprietary OSSIOfiber material. This mineral-based fiber matrix promotes bone regeneration and gradually integrates into the body, eliminating the need for follow-up surgeries or the use of permanent hardware.
