“We’ve worked together. We’ve destroyed a country that wanted to destroy Israel,” Trump said.

President Donald Trump said the decision on when to end the war against Iran will be made in coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing the close partnership between Washington and Jerusalem during the ongoing campaign.
In a phone interview with The Times of Israel on Sunday night, Trump said the two leaders have been in regular contact as the war unfolds and will jointly weigh the timing of any decision to conclude the conflict.
“I think it’s mutual… a little bit. We’ve been talking,” Trump said when asked whether the decision would be his alone or shared with Netanyahu. “I’ll make a decision at the right time, but everything’s going to be taken into account.”
Trump argued that the joint U.S.-Israel campaign prevented what he described as an existential threat from the Iranian regime.
“Iran was going to destroy Israel and everything else around it,” Trump said. “We’ve worked together. We’ve destroyed a country that wanted to destroy Israel.”
The president indicated that while the United States will ultimately determine the timing of its own military operations, Israel’s position will play a role in the decision-making process.
When asked whether Israel could continue fighting Iran even if Washington decided to halt its strikes, Trump declined to speculate, saying he does not believe such a scenario will arise.
“I don’t think it’s going to be necessary,” he said.
The comments come amid close military coordination between the United States and Israel during the war, with both countries carrying out extensive strikes against Iranian military infrastructure and leadership targets in recent days.
