Terrorist Hurls Iron Bar at Israeli Car, Miraculously No Injuries

Merav Ben Avraham was driving along Route 5 in the Samaria region Saturday night when suddenly she heard a large bang. Confused, she immediately dialed the emergency hotline.

A terrorist had hurled an iron bar, described as part of a work tool, at her vehicle as it passed near the Palestinian village of Mas-ha, close to Elkana. The object punctured the windshield and miraculously missed her and any passengers inside.

Ben Avraham described the shock of the moment. “We left Kedumim toward Petah Tikva. Three minutes before the Shomron Crossing we heard a boom. In that moment I did not understand what was happening,” she said.

She continued driving until reaching the checkpoint, where security forces examined the car and found that she did not require medical treatment. She later added that the forces responded swiftly and professionally. “It was the two of us and a hitchhiker. I hope they catch the terrorist and anyone involved. People who live in Samaria deserve to feel safe.”

IDF forces immediately entered the village and began intensive searches for the attacker. They imposed an overnight closure on Mas-ha, and the manhunt for the terrorist remains ongoing.

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan called for a firm response. “We expect significant steps against the village, including a closure, imposing a curfew, and going house to house. This attack ended in a miracle with no injuries. We demand that it be treated as a serious attack. We will not accept the return of terrorism to the area.”

The IDF continues to operate in and around Mas-ha as forces work to restore security on one of the region’s main highways and prevent further attacks on Israeli civilians.
