In a major leap toward revolutionizing air travel, Israeli aerospace company AIR has opened a state-of-the-art, 32,000-square-foot electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) production facility in central Israel.
This facility marks a major milestone in AIR’s mission to make personal and cargo air transportation accessible and efficient.
The facility is built to handle the production of up to six aircraft at once, serving both its autonomous cargo eVTOL and the piloted two-seater AIR ONE.
The latter is expected to qualify according to the FAA’s MOSAIC rule as a light sport aircraft.
This development paves the way for a quicker market launch and greater accessibility for everyday users.
“This is a pivotal moment for AIR as we expand our operations and continue to redefine air mobility,” said AIR CEO and co-founder Rani Plaut. “We’re not just building aircraft—we’re creating a future where air mobility is integrated seamlessly into everyday life.”
Equipped with an advanced assembly line, engineering lab, materials workshop, and in-house testing, the facility will serve as a model for a larger, US-based production site.
The company’s supply chain model, inspired by the automotive industry, allows partners to deliver tested subsystems, streamlining manufacturing.
“This new site is integral to AIR’s focus on multi-domain eVTOL development,” added Chen Rosen, AIR’s CTO and co-founder. “It was built with future growth in mind… and will help cement AIR’s leadership in the eVTOL manufacturing sector.”
AIR has already completed successful flight demos and secured over 2,500 preorders for its AIR ONE. With 15 cargo models slated for delivery in the coming year, AIR is not only building aircraft—it’s shaping the future of flight.
