Israel's 'solidarity' remains 'the foundation of its success,' declared Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein on the anniversary of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination.
'Like the Jewish people, we have always survived. These experiences inspire us to hold onto our culture and identity,' Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Nadia Murad said at the Knesset.
'Many Syrian civilians who are fleeing Assad’s terror are gathering at Israel’s northern border. Paradoxically, this is the safest place for them because we provide them with humanitarian aid,' Edelstein said.
“You have been lighting torches for many years, in your lives… you have illuminated the State of Israel in a great light that will burn for many years after the torches of the ceremony are extinguished,” Knesset Speaker Edelstein told the torch lighters.
While the PA paid terrorists and their families more than $347 million in 2017, it increased terror incentives by $56 million to $403 million for 2018.
"What did we think we would accomplish with this foolishness, which went against all diplomatic, security, moral and Zionist logic?" wondered Speaker Edelstein.
'A person is a murderer even if he committed murder just once in his life, so that's what we can call the army, which murders occasionally and not every day of its life,' Zoabi said.
'Let us not delude ourselves about the chances of signing a peace agreement with the Palestinians in the near future,' Edelstein told a gathering of foreign diplomats.
Edelstein said Trump’s announcement that the US recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was a 'just step, one consistent with the historical record,' and called on Israel to follow suit.
Israelis must do everything in their power 'to express appreciation for those who have sacrificed their bodies for the good of the country,' said the Deputy Defense Minister.
'We know that without that declaration, we would not be standing here today, in the Knesset Building in an independent state,' Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein said.
